BlackRock has revealed that it has launched a new fund investing in emerging and frontier markets, which includes in alternative strategies like long/short.
BlackRock says its Strategic Funds Emerging Market Allocation is intended to deliver equity-like returns, but without the volatility that can often come with emerging markets.
The manager of the fund is Jeff Shen, who also heads the emerging markets team. He will be supported by Seanna Kim and Rodolfo Martell.
The team intend there to be a smooth long term performance, whilst tactically varying the portfolio according to market conditions.
