Research from Morningstar Denmark has revealed that investors in the Uk and Luxembourg are paying among the highest ongoing fund charges in Europe. The research was conducted by Morningstar to investigate whether investors could save on ongoing charges depending on where their funds were domiciled.

The European average charge is 1.08%. The research revealed that the lowest ongoing charges could be found in Nordic-domiciles share classes with an average charge of 0.98%. Sweden and Denmark have among the lowest charges, the regional exception being Finland which has an average charge of 1.1%.

Luxembourg, which collectively holds the most assets in any European domicile, has among the highest ongoing charge for its’ investors at 1.22%. The UK has an equal figure.
